Introductory Letter from Pastor Miller |
|

Dear NSBC family, From the inception of NSBC some 150 years ago God has blessed the church abundantly as it sought to be faithful and attentive to His leading. I am sure that the leaders and congregation in those early years would say that God has done spectacular things – beyond their wildest dreams. Countless lives have been transformed and have chosen to be fully devoted followers of Christ. The Spirit of God has taken NSBC on a great adventure. I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul when he said, “Now unto him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.” Great things He has done! NSBC has been a testimony of God’s love, faithfulness, goodness, grace and power. |

Dear Friends: I suspect by now that most of you have heard that our church has embarked upon a capital campaign called “Extreme Makeover-NSBC Edition”. We are preparing for growth. I’d like to share some thoughts about that but first some history. In 1980, when I returned to a right relationship with the Lord, I began attending North Syracuse Baptist and grew spiritually. Pastor Pasma was the Senior Pastor at that time and the church was a growing, healthy church with many people actively involved in a variety of ministries. Little Lamb, the DEAF ministry and others were started. Pastor Burns came as Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship and introduced PCL classes and visitation. Pastor Emery, Singles Pastor, began the Divorce Recovery program. Our church was very vibrant and often referred to as a cutting edge church as our Pastor Miller reminds us. The church experienced significant growth during this time but was constrained by the size of the facility and parking. Pastor Pasma consulted with Church Growth Services and it was concluded that we needed to expand and add parking. |
